Description
The Chelsea 281GDFJP-B3RK or 281GDFJPB3RK is a 281 Series hydraulically shifted (PowerShift) power take-off assembly designed for 10-bolt aperture automatic transmissions, commonly fitted to Allison and Caterpillar applications. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern and delivers nine speed ratios covering both low and high ranges, with a continuous torque rating of 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) at the series level. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and the clutch pack features steel disks that are 80% thicker than the predecessor 280 Series design. An o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and resists vibrational effects from modern engine designs. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a Positive Stop on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling contact. The Wet Spline Lubrication option provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. SmartStart reduces shock load at start-up, and Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects driven equipment.
